Bob, we sure miss you down here!! It just doesn't seem right to not have you sitting on the back pew next to the aisle at Community UMC!! You were always sweet and kind to me. You will never be forgotten.

I just found out of Bob's passing.
I mourn the loss of the person that was a boss I respected and also considered a friend. Years ago, when I was working around the boat dealership with you all, I enjoyed his upbeat outlook on life, honesty, and sense of humor. Those are the times that i wish to remember.

Tommy and Family, Sorry to read about Robert. Many years since I've seen him. As former member of Butner Community, I remember his energy and care for Butner. My sincere sympathy to all.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Bob was a sweet man who never met a stranger and never seemed too busy to chat. He'll be greatly missed by many. Praying comfort and peace only God can bring you.
I don't think I ever heard anyone in the almost 20 years I knew Bob say anything bad about him. He was always in church and always had that grin on his face. We started swapping "war stories", of which mine couldn't compare to his with all of his years in the military. I gave him the nickname, "Old Soldier" after he told me that the "Desert Storm war was a young man's war. I'm getting to old for this." I saw him last summer in Butner and called out "Hey old soldier." He grinned and said before he turned around, "That's got to be Richard." Bob was a devoted Christian and friend. I won't be able to make the funeral tomorrow but my prayers are with you and the family Tom. May Bob Rest In Peace and thank you Bob for all of your service to this great nation.
Dear Stephen,
Sarah and I are praying for you and all your family in this difficult time. May you know the closeness and comfort of our Lord. We are so blessed to know you and Marnie, and we'll keep praying for you. May your hope and trust be in His promises: "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'” Rev. 21:1-4 Amen

My Wife and I Loved Bob very much. He was a wonderful person to say the least. I always enjoyed looking back in church and seeing him there. He always had something good to say. I have been in a few church meetings with Bob there and was glad to see him there. He was very Level-headed. A trait that I have always admired in the folks that I meet that are like that. Prayers all around to the many folks that miss and Loved Bob. Me and my wife Susan are among these. Goodbye Bob, I hope to see you again someday, Butch

Sergeant Major Lane was our biggest cheerleader for Town of Butner staff. He never missed a chance to tell us and anyone else that he thought we were doing good things.
During my time in the NC National Guard, I don't think we crossed paths, but we often swapped "war" stories about the fun and adventures of being a weekend warrior and the characters that we both knew.
Butner, the NCNG, and especially the Lane family has lost a giant this week. I am proud to call him my friend.
