Solitaire

August 21, 2023
Every time I pick up a deck of cards to play a game of solitaire, I am taken back to sitting on the divan watching my gramp every evening playing his three hands of solitaire. It wasn't something he did every once in awhile. It was a daily occurrence. And he played three hands every single day. He had a board that stood up beside his chair that was just big enough to lay the cards out on that he would pick up and lay out on his knees. And he would deal out the cards for himself. Sometimes when I was younger I would come over and try to help him and he would make me think that I was finding where the cards actually went knowing he was watching the whole time and figuring it out way before me LOL. But I play solitaire sometimes just to think about my gramp. I like to remember sitting there watching him, talking to him, laughing with him, hearing his stories. It wasn't just solitaire. It was when Gramp relaxed and all the stress of the day just floated away and it was just Gramp and Grand Enjoying each other's company.
