Robert L. Durham’s journey on earth ended June 11, 2019 at theVA Hospice in Dayton and he

was taken home.Robert was born March 22, 1951 to his parents Eva Mae (Smith) Durham and the late Clinton Durham Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa (Wilson). He is survived by his mother Eva M. Durham who graciously supported him with unconditional love, sisters, Diana Durham Dayton OH, Evelyn (Durham) Lewis Columbus OH; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Robert graduated from Dunbar High School, Class of 1971. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era in 1974. As Robert served in the military he was acknowledged with several accolades in performances in his duties which included:

  • Air ForceCommendation Medal
  • Good Conduct Medal
  • Air Force Overseas Short Tour
  • Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon
  • National Defense Service Medal

We commend Robert for exceptional service while in the military and in helping to maintain the security and safety of the citizens of the United States, a job well done and to all the men and women who have served no matter what branch, a heartfelt thank you for your service. When Robert was discharged from the Air Force he worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden Utah before returning home to Dayton. Robert had a passion for cars and would occasionally try repairing them; he also loved people and he might have been considered a “social butterfly”. Robert will be missed by his family and friends.
