He was born in Pasadena, Tx to Robert Ligon, and DiAnn Lowry Ligon. His brother Ralph came along 5 yrs later. They were a close family, always going dog shows ad his parents raised showed boxers, and later became judges. Robert had to clean out dog kennels as they owned it at home. Him and Ralph hung around the Heurto family, others kids always there too. He rode the bulls at pasadena rodeo in high school and square danced, and later on was on tv with his first wife Jan.He wasl 6 ft and ran track in high school, kept the record 2 yrs.
