Hey Daddio, I’ve just woken up this morning and I feel a little empty, I know it can’t be helped, but it just makes me realise how much I still yearn for you, and how time goes on, it never gets any easier.
I read this poem the other day, and it made me think of you, so I just thought I’d share it here, it’s called:

Trees.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

-Joyce Kilmer

The Mouse

November 10, 2014

Miggins, I could make out him saying, after his carer came to get me. " did you put a dead mouse in my bed. Incredulously I stared at him and laughed, why on earth would I do that I say. The poor carer was quite disturbed, she was giving Robert a wash and as she turned him over she found a dead mouse.

I have to add that in the night I had heard Fred, our cat, caterwauling as she was apt to do on occasion when she did catch some poor creature, I got up to see what she was up to, but found nothing, I went back to bed and thought no more of it until I was summoned. It all fell into place then, Fred had obviously thought daddy needed cheering up and had very thoughtfully left him a gift, much to the poor carers disgust.

It still makes me smile when I think of that day, but I still can't believe that Robert would actually think I would put a dead mouse in his bed. (the godfather on a much smaller scale)
