Late Pa Robert Olatunji (RO) Adebowale was a renowned Pharmacist and Optician. He was the Founder and Managing Director of Commercial Medicine Stores Ltd, Lagos and also the Founder and Managing Director of Robert and Fulani Properties limited, Lagos.
Pa RO Adebowale was born on March, 10, 1910 to Mr. Jonathan Adebowale and Mrs. Adebowale (nee Abadalari) in Ijebu-ode, Ogun State, Nigeria. He attended the Ijebu-ode grammar school and then completed his secondary education at the St. Gregory's College, Lagos, Nigeria. Pa Adebowale then went on to study pharmacy at the Pharmacy School, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria and then around 1944 to 1947, Pa RO Adebowale went to London to study optics. Pa RO Adebowale was honored with the highest professional award of the Fellowship of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, FPSN. Pa RO Adebowale, served as the National Treasurer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria for about 10 years. Pa RO Adebowale was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ who walked and lived life by the power of the Holy Spirit and served his family, patients and customers with humility, love and compassion. His relationship with God was also evidenced by his daily recital of Psalm 23, trusting the good shepherd to meet all his needs and protect him and also his activities as a member of the Methodist Church, Tinubu, Lagos Nigeria.
His Father, Mr. Jonathan Adebowale was a trader who apparently had a chauffeur driven car before 1930. The Adebowale family home at the time was located at No. 46 Ishoku Street, Ijebu-ode. His mother was also a trader, dedicated leader of the trading women in Lagos and a devout Christian member of the African Methodist Church.
Pa RO Adebowale was blessed with seven children: Professor (Mrs) Adenike Grange, Mr. Adekunle Adebowale, Mrs. Adeyinke Olumide (deceased), Dr. Abiola Adebowale (deceased),
Dr. Abimbola Adebowaleeyo, Mr. Olatunji Adebowale and Miss Olusola Adebowale.
Pa RO Adebowale is blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren as follows:
