The Lost Button

April 20, 2013

When my Dad passed away, my husband was going to take his dress blues uniform to be dry cleaned for his funeral. Someone noticed that there was a button missing and we knew a soldier would not want to wear his uniform like that. We searched his closet high and low knowing it had to be there. We checked pockets on all the clothing, but we could not find the button. So my sister moved another button and we left the gap were his hand would cover it. Some months later my sister went in the closet for something, and there sitting on top of a box at the bottom of the closet, in plain sight was the button. We don't know what he was trying to tell her but we know that he knew we had done our best.......Dad you always had a sence of humor.....

Pennies from Heaven

April 20, 2013

Some of you may have heard stories from other people about their loved ones who have passed on leaving pennies around for them to find. I must admit before my Dad went to heaven I probably would have said "Sure". Coincidence maybe....but I know that my Dad leaves pennies for us to find so he can remind us he is close and still watching out for us. The most resent was on Easter (2013) The family met for dinner at a local restaurant. I went to set my mother's walker against the end of the table and there on the carpet was the shiniest penny I have seen ever, it looked like it was just minted. When I picked it up and said to my husband, "Look who is here today." There was a lady across the isle and she said, "I have seen maybe 50 people walk past that penny." I told her I knew my Dad had  left it for us to let us know he was with us today and that he left them often. She said that was the nicest story she heard in a long time. Here is how I know they are not a coincidence. I have made my bed and left the bedroom, when I went back in there, there were three pennies in the middle of my bed. One flew out of the dish washer at my sister as she opened the door. These are two of the strangest. We know you are here Dad and we Love you always.....

Aniversary Love....

August 7, 2012

One of my favorite stories: On my parents fiftieth anniversary, my sister said to my Dad, " Gee, Dad married for 50 years, thats a really long time." And he says,"yeah, I know but it's to late to do anything about it now."
