One of my favourite memories of Robert is from our visit to Maastricht for my son's second birthday. We travelled from Vancouver, Canada so see Babi and Opa (grandma and grandpa). We had many adventures, but it was the quiet moments at home, cuddling with Opa in his favourite chair, or playing with wooden trains, which made our visit so special. One afternoon, Sam and Opa decided to play trumpets with funnels pressed to their lips. It was a cacauphony of ridiculous sounds! My mom always delighted in Robert's incredible sense of humour, and it was lovely to witness it, much to the delight of my son. We had many more wonderful visits over the last 12 years, so many to fill our memories with love and light.

Robert, Opa, we will cherish you forever in our hearts!
