Bob Ryono was born on October 21, 1951 in San Pedro, California. He was the son of the late Chikao Robert Ryono and Mariko (Nishinaka) Ryono. He grew up in Playa del Rey and attended Westchester High School. He attended Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelors.

In 1974, Bob married Debi Werner in Monroe, Michigan. They raised their family in California, living there for 32 years prior to moving back to Monroe in August of 2009. Debi passed away on March 28, 2012.

Bob was a dedicated history teacher at Lawrence Middle School in Chatsworth, California for 29 years. He loved his job, and he loved history!

He was an avid Dodgers and Michigan State Spartans fan. He enjoyed fishing, Westerns, watching sports, and going out to sushi. Bob was a founding member of Moorpark Presbyterian Church, and he was always grateful for the community there.     

Bob passed away on March 20, 2013 after battling Lewy Body Disease for about ten years. He was living in Salt Lake City, Utah near his youngest daughter, Catherine.
