Scotty Lawrence of Fultondale, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Lawrence of Rison, Arkansas and Dean Jones of Warrior, Alabama and grandsons Devon and Tyler.
Scotty Lawrence is survived by his wife of 30 years, Martha; his children, Robert Lawrence Jr., Crystal Lawrence, and Kellie (Nathan) Sneed; his stepchildren, David Whitney and Laura Whitney; 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He retired from the City of Birmingham in 2001, after working nearly 30 years at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
Scotty loved being in the woods, whether it was deer or turkey hunting, rescuing wildflowers, or just being there. He often said that he had the best childhood growing up in the woods surrounding his mother’s home in Warrior, Alabama. He always had a garden growing the best tomatoes in this part of the country and he rarely missed an Auburn Football game. His love for his family was so strong, loving each one of us with all of his heart and he was loved equally in return. He also leaves behind many fond memories to be cherished by his family and friends.
