2011-06-19 07:26:06When we moved to West Point Robert was one of the first of our class to extend the hand of friendship. Spending the night with Robert on Neal Street introduced me to a new set of friends, the Fullers, the Daniels, the Hales and others. As one of the "Blood Brothers", Robert tried hard to get me comfortable on mini-bikes and later motor cycles. I couldn't shake my fears but he finally coaxed me and coached me until I succeeded. 2011-06-19 12:16:42We moved to West Point in the summer of 1964 and I started third grade with Robert that fall. Like Mike said, Robert had a big heart and knew no strangers. I remember a couple of years later when we were in Mrs. Marks' science class; Mrs. Marks was explaining that each time we moved a muscle, some of our cells died. Robert shot up his hand and said, "Mrs. Marks, do you think that's why I'm so small, because I move too much and kill too many cells?" 2011-06-20 09:54:41I remember Robert as one of the "smart guys" in our class. He, along with several other friends who have commented here, was a good student. I also remember spending the night with Robert and looking forward to riding whatever motorized vehicle was available, most times being led by Robert with reckless abandon! He laughed easily and played basketball with intensity.

2011-06-28 13:23:53As his younger cousin, I had always looked up to Robert as a young man. It was a treat when I was able to ride motorcycles with him, and if I was lucky he would invite me to ride along with him into town. Robert was always greeted warmly by many friends, and always had a joking demeanor.
