I miss my dad so much. Having his birthday pass without him here left a hole in my heart. He was such a wonderful man in so many ways.

Diane and family, I send my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Bob was my main Judge for the La Pine Teen Court program for many, many years. He was wonderful with the youth, his insight in how the youth would come up with dispositions was great and he always availed himself to answer any questions they might have regarding the judicial system, etc. My program went away, but his impact on our court at the time was immense. I am fortunate to of had our court video'd and Bob is in the video giving testimony to how positive teen courts are.

I have lost my best friend and my soul mate. Times will be very tough for a while, but he would want me to keep my chin up and rely on my dear friends and family for support, which I am doing. Hope to see many of you in July.

Bob and Diane Memories

April 28, 2015

I have only good memories of Bob and Diane and recently they've been flooding my brain, trying to cover up the sad thoughts that keep sneaking in to remind me I'll not be able to see my old friend again!

Lots of good memories revolve around pot luck dinners held around Sunriver - often on the Walberg deck.  Even though I don't play golf, I've enjoyed being included in your Nine & Dine events and especially loved the times you all agreed to Float & Bloat instead!  Kayaking is ALWAYS fun and floating down the river with lots of friends is really special - even when we're run off by mosquitoes at the Owners' Park!

Last summer after paddling, we wound up (AGAIN) at Bob & Diane's and I was anxious to share with them my recent visit to see My Fair Lady at Ashland's Shakespeare Festival.  To my delight, they both became extremely animated, reliving a time when Bob starred in and Diane directed a production of MFL!  How fortunate they were to have each other for over 30 years and share so many wonderful times!

Thanks for all the time I've gotten to spend with Lizzi, too!  Starting with my first stay in your Surprise home, after undergoing surgery in Phoenix and not ready to make the long, bumpy ride up my mountain in Prescott National Forest, Lizzie and I have been really good friends!  Dogsitting and taking walks with her while you guys went to Disneyland and on other trips was as much fun for me as it was for Lizzie!

We have been prepping to move in next door for the last year.   More often than not, when I would mention where we were building, people would say, "Oh, you're next to Walberg's!"     It didn't take long to figure out Bob & Diane knew, and touched the lives of, a LOT of people.    Many people go through life without many friends; Bob was blessed to be in the category of those who were loved by many.

We were looking forward to getting to know better, and being neighbors with, both Bob & Diane.    I am sorry we have missed that window of opportunity with Bob; but we still look forward to being neighbors with Diane, Lizzie & Riley!
