The Nail Tree

April 10, 2016

As a very young child, my Dad and I would visit the park near my house. My Dad and I would often climb into the largest, most beautiful tree in the Park, which provided a lot of shade. My Father taught me, from a young age, that it was not okay to be destructive. The Tree I loved the most, which we always sat in, had been almost destroyed. Some sad person had used a nail gun to pin nails at all angles all over the inside of the tree. My Dad explained that the person who had done this, was not only cruel, but had no sense of right and wrong. The tree kept growing, and life went on. I lost my Dad, but ever since that day, when he was honest with me, I realised, love never dies, no matter how bad the pain is.
