Robert L Cleary grew up in San Francisco area.  Brother to Tom and Marjorie (Mimi) and father to Scott, Tyler and Robin.  Dad had two great loves in his life, Barbara (#1) and Barbara (#2) as he liked to refer to them as.  Dad had an affinity for nice cars, clothes and houses.  He was proud of his children and showered them with love and affection.  Dad was a San Francisco police officer for thirteen years until his career was ended by a car accident/drunk driver.  Dad went back to College and got a degree in Psychology and Sociology and worked for a short time as a juvenile detention counselor.  In 1976 he moved his family to Spain where they spent over three wonderful years.  In 1982 mom and dad went their separate ways.  Dad lived with his mother, Myrtle until she died, vowing to make her last years as special as he could.  Dad moved to Seattle, Washington in the late 80's and enjoyed several houses in Magnolia, South Bend and Port Townsend areas.  In late 2006 dad suffered his first stroke and moved to Silverton, Oregon.  It seems the legacy of taking care of a parent and making his last years as special as he could fell on Tyler.  Tyler, dad truly appreciated the love, security and support you and your family provided him with during his last few years. 

Dad would like to best be known for his children and the dedication and nuturing he showed them with throughout the years.  He loved his grandchildren and was pleased at the way they were turning out.  Dad died the way he was meant to, surrounded by his children.
