This site is dedicated to our beloved Robin Allen.  In her life she played many roles: wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, friend, social worker, scrapbooker, agency director, public speaker, counselor, coach, pianist, and (lately) cabin designer and decorator.  We invite you to join us in remembering Robin by adding photos, recollections, and appreciations.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be designated either to

The Barker Foundation (www.barkerfoundation.org) or to the Mesothelioma Foundation (www.curemeso.org).

Robin's legacy continues in the lives of the multitudes she touched during her life. Those of us still on this side of heaven can treasure our memories and honor her through acts of kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity, especially towards children.

May this beautiful spring day we have before us to enjoy with delicate blue skies decorated with birds singing back from wintery retreats to make their nests and raise their young, with grasses greening and trees readying to burst again into leaf -- all that is the promise and miracle of spring, may it be Robin's blessing on you today, her smile and her love.

Robin was funny, organized, helpful and understanding. Her work helped make ours a family as we adopted two babies (1981 and 1983). Later, as I worked on committees at Barker, her charm, clear-headedness, amazing energy and ideas - always made a difference. She is deeply missed. cwj

No sadness for Robin; she's safe in the Lord's loving care. And none for us; she wouldn't want any moping around over her, but a committment to spread her warmth and compassion in our conduct of our daily business of living.

On the 17th Marie and I remembered Robin's wonderful life and work and the rich legacy she has left behind. In the evening, we (being in London for the month) attended a wonderful Amy Grant concert which she closed with "I Will Remember You." So true in this case. Blessings ~

My prayers remain with you, and hopes that this past year has gently, slowly eased your pain in Robin's absence, that daily and with new eyes you can see the beautiful world she created that still surrounds you.

I met Robin within a few months of my brother Dwight, her husband-to-be, in the very early 1960's. She came from gracious and wise parents and even as a teenager was possessed of the presence, wisdom and generosiy that normally come with age. But Robin always had them, and used these special gifts from God on behalf of others. She left this life too soon, but accomplished all things needful.

Robin's legacy lives on in the families that she helped create. We have 2 Barker babies (now 15 and 10 years old); every time we look at them we will remember Robin. Her light shines on.

Robin's death again raises the unanswerable question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Robin had a soul as pure as any human soul can be. She was the epitome of a good person.

Robin is one of the most beautiful woman I've ever had the privilege of knowing. She's an inspiration to all in her presense. Her intelligence, great sense of humor, agape love for all, & zeal for life

Robin totally and so ably personified Barker. She had strength, good humor, always an upbeat smile. She led us through a tough transition with grace and made us proud and eager BF parents.

When I read this poem, it made me think of how wonderful Robin is and that she will always be with us: All Is Well Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other, that we are
