Roderic Shea, a naval veteran originally from Rumson, NJ, passed away on May 19th at the age of 66. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband to Susan Shea, with whom he spent many happy years. Roddy had a passion for the outdoors, and loved deer hunting and camping. He also enjoyed country music, and could often be found listening to his favorite songs.

Rod was a man of many talents, but perhaps what he will be most remembered for was his unique sense of humor. He had a quick wit and was always ready with a joke, making friends and family laugh with his clever quips and humorous stories.

Rod was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Susan, sons Christopher, Lee, and RJ, and daughter Lauren, nine grandchildren Evelyn, Payton, Jack, Eleanor, Liam, Landon, Khalon, Lane, and one coming in November, his sisters Joannie and Dorothy, as well as his brothers James, Frederick, and Timothy.

In his life, Rod touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and humor. Although he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rod will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, and his unwavering dedication to his country. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced soon.

I met Sue and Roddy when my granddaughter, Reyna, married Lee. We realized we shared so many interests and had wonderful visits together over the years. I loved this man and everything he stood for. He was a dedicated and loving husband and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren, hand-crafting special items and treasures for them. He and Sue showed their love for family constantly. One of my favorite things we did was when we all ziplined in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We will miss your funny stories, your happy laugh and everything about you.

You are delighting our Lord and Savior right now, Roddy, and what this earth has lost, heaven has gained. I love you and I'll see you on the other side.
