About Rodney Berry

January 21, 2012

Born in Brisbane during the Second World War in January 1942. Son of Alma and Jim Berry of 34 Merehaye St., Wooloowin, Brisbane.

He attended Wooloowin State School and Kedron State High School (1956 - 1959).

He attended Kelvin Grove Teachers College, and began full time teaching in the early 1960's.

He married in 1977, and resided at Stradbroke Island, and then at Legume (NSW) near Warwick (Queensland). He lived in Warwick for a short period before suffering a fatal stroke. He died in Greenslopes Private Hospital (Brisbane) on Saturday, the 12th of November, 2011.

Rodney Berry (Rod Berry) was secretary of the Killarney Lions Club for approx. ten years. His cremated ashes were dispersed at Queen Mary Falls near Killarney (Queensland), in January 2012.

He was my only brother, and went 'before his time' due to a stroke, which was most likely linked to his cancer (which was detected purely by chance when he had a routine blood test, and, unfortunately, far too late)... (John Alexander Berry).
