Rodney C. Washington, 51, a resident of 6900 Mt. Herman Church Road, died Sunday, March 27, 2011.

 

 A native of Durham County, the son of Sandra Brown Thornton and the late George T. Washington. He was a member of Abundant Life Church in Hillsborough and a medically retired carpenter.

 

 Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Pastor David Smith. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

 

 Surviving are a son, Rodney Johnson of Hillsborough, his mother, Sandra Brown Thornton and stepfather, John W. Thornton both of Durham, two sisters, Sabrina W. Bostic of Creedmoor, Caroline Webster Hyde of Oxford, a brother, Neal Washington of Carrboro, a grandson, Rodney Dean Washington and several nieces and nephews.

 

 Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 12:30 – 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
