Rogelio “Roger” Barrera Fernandez, 65, died suddenly
on April 18th, 2021. Roger’s loss was completely unexpected and his
family and friends are shocked and deeply saddened. Although Roger left us
here, He is now reunited with God. Heaven gained an angel who is now watching
and protecting us from above.
Roger was born on March 12th, 1956 to
Rodolfo and Natividad Fernandez in Cavite, Philippines. He is the brother of
Elenita, Roberto, Robinson, Rommel, Ronnie and Rosalyn.
Roger went to school and finished his studies in the
Philippines. He later worked overseas as an Electrician. When he went back
home, he worked as a Jeweler at T.R. Santi and Sons specializes in emblem jewelry.
In 2001, he moved to Toronto, Canada and worked at Toro Aluminum for the last
19 years.
Roger leaves to cherish his life and memories: Naty
Fernandez, his devoted and beloved Mother. Araceli Fernandez, his loving wife
who he shared 39 wonderful years with. Rochelle, Ronna and Roseanne: his caring
and affectionate daughters. Rosh, Rover, Roman, Reyna and McLaren: his sweet
and delightful grandchildren. He also leaves his family, friends, colleagues in
the Philippines, U.S. A., Canada and everywhere else.
Roger is described by family and friends as honest, hardworking,
kind-hearted and thoughtful. He was full of life, positive and had a great
sense of humor. Whoever you are, he willingly helps anyone in need: family,
friends and even strangers. He enjoyed the simple things in life; he loved
cooking and listening to his favorite music. He had an infectious laugh that
uplifts your spirit. His positivity and jokes would change your mood even on
your worst days. He was someone you can rely on anytime. He puts everyone else
before him to make sure you are okay – no questions asked. He was a responsible
son and brother, a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather. He was a
great father not only to his daughters but wonderful father-figure to nieces,
nephews, godchildren and to whoever met him. There are not enough words that
can describe what an amazing human being he was. He truly was one of a kind. He
touched many lives in so many ways. And for that, he will be forever loved, missed and remembered.
