I was a pro sa plaintiff appearing in Judge Benson Court with the defendants' attorney Mr. A .B. Who insisted on calling me that woman,I respectfully ask Judge Benson to tell the attorney to refer to me as the Plaintiff, or mrs. Burrell, he did it several more times,I was quiet for a moment and I look at Judge BensonI, He said to Mr. B if you refer to mrs. Burrell as that woman again I am going to hold you in contempt of Court. I look at mr. B. and His face got beet red! I simple said thank you YourHonor. He inturned said I will take this matter under advisement, I though then that I wold win , but he wa respectfully of an attorney against a pro se person. He did ruled in my favor. I always did respect him , He just up his charter bar to the highest level. To his family : I only new his as a Judge.
Rest in Peace Judge Benson

To say Roger was the epitome of class and distinction is an understatement. Our hearts break as we know that Roger and Nancy had a true bond and one of the most loving marriages ever. He will be greatly missed, but forever loved, and we will be reunited with him in heaven, where he is, in the meantime, advocating for us!!!! xoxo

I was Roger's massage therapist for many years. I have been through many ups and downs with him. I will miss our times together. He was a very special man. He truly loved his family. He always had kind words about them. I will miss him.

I am so sorry and my deepest sympathy to you and the family. Roger was always a joy to see come into the Court House and would always sing to me Once in love with Amy. Even though his was not feeling well he'd have a smile. God bless and the memories will always be there.

"Roger the dodger"

February 16, 2017

The Bar has changed with time.  I came in the late 70's, and back then we practiced law and played together.  I saw Roger hit a softball over the fence at Alpiner Park and trot the bases in white shorts and crew socks.  That will be the picture I choose to remember.

To the Family of Roger:

I have had the honor and privilege to work with Roger for over 15 years. He was a true inspiration to me and the entire legal community. He was always upbeat and willing to lend a hand. I will be forever grateful for the time that we worked together. What a great role model he has been. You will not be forgotten.
