Heavenly anniversary

August 26, 2020
7 years Willy.  It doesn't seem that long and yet, it seems as if you were but a dream.  I will remember that weekend,  that seemed like it lasted a lifetime, each day of my life.  I have so many regrets about that Friday and Saturday before you slipped into a coma.  I miss you and am sorry for all the events you have missed with the grandchildren.  They are all super kiddos.  Mark is on a good path with God in his heart.  Desi is getting along, but I believe will need some pushing this Senior year for her. The little guys are so fun to talk to, they are growing up so fast.  I miss them and hope I can see them next year.  Jennifer is going to school and getting her future on track.  I'll see you when I'm called to my heavenly home.  I love you.  Your Clem.  xxoo

Happy Birthday, daddy! I’m sure you have had a great day sailing with papa and enjoying your cake and ice cream with everyone in the beautiful heavens above! Dante turned 10 years old today! He’s growing up to be such a handsome smart big hearted young man! You would be proud of him. You would be proud of us all! We have been doing well. I’m in my 4th semester in school and I’m doing very good. Derrick and Desiree are doing very good too! Growing like weeds and growing up to be beautiful and smart as well. Markie you know is in Arizona with Ginny. He is doing very well! You would be very proud of him as I know I am very proud of the young man he wasand man he’s turning out to be!! I miss him very much but I know he did the right thing moving!! Wayne is doing well. Working as a boss at his job and taking care of the family so I can stay home a little longer.  We miss you and think of you so often and speak of you all the time. It hasn’t been the same since you left and never will be but we always know you are with us and watching over us all everyday. I love you daddy and your grandchildren love their papa yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever!!! Forever missed but NEVER forgotten!

Roger was my best friend, acquaintances come and go, but for a dear friend who would do anything for you, these are the people that are to be cherished. Roger made this world a better place. He made people laugh, and feel welcomed where ever he was. I will miss him!

While we are mourning the loss of our dear friend, we will always cherish his memory,
his cheerful smile and huge heart.

All I can say is, “Heaven has truly gained a marvelous man”.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his dear wife Ginny and daughter, Jennifer. I do pray that comfort and peace will come to you through your faith and friends. Ginny you have 26 years of loving memories to cherish.

I, so dearly miss you and wish I could be there for you. Wouldn't it be nice, if you made
that trip you both were looking forward too? My porch light will be on!

Fondly,

Shirley DeMichele

This memorial video only scratches the surface the beauty of the man himself. A life cut too short.  It is evident that Roger believed in Live life to fullest, Laugh out loud and often and Love with all your heart and soul unconditionally.

I will miss him forever, but I know that God will reunite us some day in Heaven and I will hear his laugh and see his big smile for eternity.  "I will see you again".

My name is Doug Rose, I am Steve's son.  I heard about Roger, and I just wanted say how sorry I am for your loss.  I remember one time several years ago I was driving out to Phoenix  to go to a Real Estate conference.  My car kept breaking down the whole way up, turning a 5 hour drive into a 13 hour drive in 115 degree heat.  Roger was nice enough to drive out to the hotel I was staying at, pick up my car and take it to a trusted mechanic, ensuring I could drive home safely at the end of the week.  Without his help, I don't know what I would have done.
It was kind acts like that which made me realize what a great guy he was.  I always enjoyed sitting next to him in the desert chatting over a nice cold beer.  He was always a joy to be around.  I will never forget his laugh or him walking around yelling "Hey Stevie!" As he was looking for my Dad.  I will miss him.  My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

We met Roger and Ginny through the chair ministry at LOC that they led for so many years.  One week during our lively banter while setting up chairs Roger mentioned that he grew up in Webster City, Iowa.  What a small world....we had grown up in Iowa Falls only 25 minutes away, our high schools were in the same sports conference.  What were the chances of that.

It didn't take us long to find out that wasn't the only thing we had in common and we became fast friends.  Roger was a fun-loving small town Iowa boy whose heart was as big as his laugh.  He was always willing to help, handy beyond belief and unafraid to tackle almost any project. He was our go-to guy for all of our home repairs and things we didn't know how to do.

In fact, just a few weeks ago we enlisted Roger's help to talk us through a repair. We needed his expertise (not to mention his tools!) to mortar some loose rocks to a fence pillar.  He sat in the shade and good-naturedly coached us through the project, sometimes laughing at us and sometimes laughing with us!  It had to have tested his patience to watch our rather limited skills but in the end he was pretty impressed with the job we had done.  That was typical Roger......wanting to help, willing to help and immensely enjoying the journey.

We miss you, our friend, and know that you are thoroughly enjoying entertaining angels!

Poem for Daddy

Memories

No time can come between your heart and mine,

Though time must pass before I see your face…

I’ll see your eyes, your smile within my heart,

And Memories will restore you to your place.

I’ll miss you, dad!

But most of all, your heart--so gentle, full of wisdom, strong, and true…

The heart that loved and gave, so much & long--Loyal heart!

No one on earth like you!

And though the years pass by like shifting sand,

The shore of time remains the same to me…

I smile to know Eternity Itself

Will not erase one Precious Memory!

Rog loved to talk, he loved people, and he loved to tell stories.  He was the proverbial class clown who received great pleasure in making people laugh.  Please take a minute to share your "Roger"  story.  Let this site be a gathering of rememberances and stories about him and for him.  Maybe he will have some new material for heaven.  See you soon Willy, I love you.   Clem
