We meditated and said a prayer at church this morning for Memorial Day. I stood and shared that today was the anniversary of my brother Roger's passing. I was surprised that my tears continue to flow after 18 years. This is the prayer we shared:
"PRAYER OF GRATITUDE AND AMENDS TO THOSE THAT HAVE SERVED THEIR COUNTRY IN THE ARMED FORCES.
Often our returning veterans have not been very well treated or appreciated. Our collective subconsciousness is vast, and each time we forgive and ask for forgiveness we clear more and more. Today, we remember those who serve or who we have lost as a result of service to our Country.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFT.
WE REMEMBER YOUR SACRIFICE.
WE SURROUND YOU WITH PRAYERS OF GRATITUDE AND LOVE.
IF I OR ANY OTHER PERSON HAS EVERY DONE ANYTHING TO HURT YOU,
OR OFFEND YOU,
OR DISRESPECT YOU,
OR MAKE YOU FEEL GUILTY,
OR IGNORE YOU,
OR RIDICULE YOU,
I APOLOGIZE.
IF I OR ANY OTHER PERSON HAS FAILED TO SEE YOUR GIFT,
OR APPRECIATE YOUR SACRIFICE,
OR UNDERSTAND YOUR SUFFERING,
OR VALUE YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCE,
I AM SO SORRY.
PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND PLEASE FORGIVE US."
