Dear mom, these years are flying by. Eleven years now since your transition, there is not a day that goes by where you are not in my heart and mind. Forever grateful to have you as my mother, teacher, motivator, inspiration and best friend. Trish and I are together and taking great care of each other. We feel your presence and your protection. My "Why and Goal" is to continue the Legacy that you and Dad built. Thank you for everything. Love You So Much Mama.

Dearest Queen Mother Roho, mama, mom and mommie;
It’s so hard to believe that it’s been 7 years since you made your transition. I have felt your presence on a regular basis. You have protected me, guided me, provided for me and embraced me through everything. While I miss your physical being, I know you are with me always. I know that you have brought people into my life and I know you have brought opportunities to me, and you have kept certain things away. You protected me along with many other heavenly hosts during my recent surgery. I am 100% certain of your grace. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I Love You Very Much!

Hello Mama, It's hard to believe that it's been 6 years since you transitioned to join daddy, papa, mama, big fat mama, Howard, and Faye. By now you are joined with Vaughn and Sherri Patillo. Trish and I will carry the torch for the family now. Vaughn and Faye have a host of children, grand and great grand children. What a legacy you and dad have built. Thank you for your presence and continued protection. I will always miss you in the flesh, but will continue to know that you are with us always.

I think you know the 1 1/2 years you liveed with me in Las Vegas were the most memorial in my life. Talking politics, family, sharing stories about Papa, and other invaluable information you only get by living with someone an a daily basis. I certainly miss you!!!

It's hard to imagine it's been two years since Roho's passing. Often times when i'm driving in downtown Seattle I smile remembering the day Roho and I took my kids to Seattle Art Museum and walked from the King Dome to Seattle Center with the promise of Ice Cream. She had my kids walking for hours with the promise of ice cream 4 hours later they finally got it....:)

I am so emotional, it was your birthday yesterday and this is the first chance I've had to light a candle. Yesterday I woke up and was feeling very strange, I said oh it's mama's birthday, I also felt numb, my eyes filled with tears. I miss you soooooooo much mama, and I thank you for all the lessons you've taught me throughout my life. you are now and will always be with me.

While I was in Brazil in November, Paulo Silva and I talked about how grateful and surprised we all were to hear your fabulous voice sing Summertime at that party he took you, Toni and me to. You still inspire our love, and definitely my activism.

My mother Betty MacGregor does not have internet so am putting this in at her request. On Jan 9th, 2012, she was thinking of Roho when she wrote a letter to the editor of the Yakima-Herald Republic as follows: "I flinch when I read or hear the phrase "majority minority". We have created a descriiption that again assures whites are superior and in control". You are greatly missed Roho!!

As I watched the news coverage for Nelson Mandella's Memorial Service, I was contiually struck with the realization that his later photos and those of Roho show a great amount of the same beauty. They could easily have been Brother and Sister. We know for sure that they are Kindred Spirits. Happy Birthday, Roho! from all of the Ayyoub's.
