This is a poem that I think speaks of the essence of my mother:

The Way It Is   --William Stafford

There's a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn't change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can't get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time's unfolding.
You don't ever let go of the thread.

My wife and I were lucky to move onto Blue Stem Back Road 27 years ago and got to interact with Romayne, Bill and Bill's parents. All the Gorman's were delightful and we will miss seeing Romayne. Our condolences to the family.

Whenever she entered a room,it became brighter. Whenever she spoke, there was laughter, whenever she gave, someone was richer for her gift. She was the true epitome of a "gracious lady". She will be forever missed. A new star glows in heaven.

God will give Romayne the most beautiful wings covered with diamonds. If anyone earned these it most certainly would be Romayne. She was the most gracious , loving and beautiful person I have had the privilege of meeting in my lifetime. I will certainly miss her warm smile at our PEO meetings that she always did so much for in so many ways.  Love you Romayne,

I was heartbroken to read of Romayne's passing just now in the Sunday Oklahoman. I met Romayne and Precious Teddy Bear when my husband, Ron, was taking cancer treatments at the Integris Cancer Institute. Romayne shared with me that she had struggled with cancer, but always gave me hope for a positive outcome for my husband. I have pictures of Teddy Bear on my phone, and look at the pictures often. My husband passed away in our hometown of Woodward, January 17th, from cancer, but I will have fond memories of this special woman.
