Ronald Clark Ritchey

8/30/1950 to 3/10/2016

 

            Ronald Clark Ritchey of Miami, FL, battling lung cancer, passed away on 3/10/2016.

Raised in Hot Springs by Phyllis & James Ritchey, he graduated Hot Springs High in1969, where he participated in football, basketball, Vita club, Spanish club & the audiovisual club.

     A Navy veteran, he served on the USS John F. Kennedy.
        
     Ronnie stage managed, designed sound/lights at the Vapors Club in Hot Springs for Brenda Lee, Phyllis Diller, Patti Page, Crystal Gayle & the Smothers Brothers.

      Ronnie was Road/Stage Manager for Rainbow National Dance Competition, created by Ray Binney & Tony Anthony.

            Ronnie designed/ran sound/lights for international functions at the Hyatt Regency International Hotel in Guam, including sound for First Lady Hillary Clinton.

            Under I.A.T.S.E. Local 500, Miami, FL, he worked with Florida Grand Opera for 17 years as Stagehand, Key Carpenter, Assistant Carpenter and Key Properties.

            Survived by domestic partner, Maura Peterson; sisters- Kathy Townzen; Sherry Troupe; children and grandchildren.
