A Tribute honoring the Memory of Ronald “Ron“ Carl Edwards

A limb has fallen from The Davis' Family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me."
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again. ALAS!

Ron's father traveled across the country as a soldier of more than 22 years. Later, he transitioned. While a youth, Ron's mother Inez relocated her family from his birth state of Oklahoma, to Newark, New Jersey, where seven of her ten livin siblings lived. Mrs. Edwards  was one of 12 siblings, two brothers died during their youth.

Since Newark offered many challenges for newcomers, the close knit family showed love and support in a significant way. Big brother Johnny showed brotherly love, and moral support was given by role model uncles: Bob Moore (d), Charles Moore (d), and Joe reen (d) provided words of encouragement; the Reverend Clyde Moore (d) provided spiritual counseling; Roy Moore provided tough love discipline, and Bill Moore provided educational guidance. Of course, support was received from two doting sisters Marie and Brenda. Nurturing was provided by Aunts Nell, Robbie and Katherine Kat.  And older cousins contributed too by bonding.  From Alabama, maternal grandparents Jessie and Mary Moore prayed for tem, and proudly bragged about their grandchildren.

After graduating from Cookman, Ron returned to East Orange, and became an entrepreneur. He established Nabiru Fragrance & ift Sop, 143 Halsey Street, Newark, New Jersey. Ron was serious about his business and invested time to travel near and far to attend and/or participate trade shows. His niece Ranisa Edwards Ali worked with Ron in the business. Also, he trained his son and daughter as well.  Anyone who met Ron, knew that he has a passionate love for his family, especially his mother, offsprings and two grands.
Life was not a bed of roses for Ron; however, he was highly motivated with self-determination, perseverance, and he possessed a great deal of effort, and an endurance attitude, peppered with kindness, wic were ingredients for his Success. Moreover, Ron adopted one of Kwanzaas 7 principles -  Kujichagulia and Lemons became Lemonade!
