KNECHT, RONALD – 78, of Brigantine, passed away on August 9, 2019.  Born in Aldan, PA. Was a member of the US Army Reserve from February 1962 until December 1993; then transferred to the Retired Reserve.  During which time the unit was involved in a call-up for “Operation Desert Storm” in 1991. He was employed by the Department of the Army as a civilian employee, unit administrator, working full time in support of the Army Reserve Unit from March of 1967 until October of 2000.

Was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Brigantine; dubbed the “Poet Laureate” of the church by the minister, John Scotland.

He enjoyed writing poetry on almost any subject (mostly humorous).

Survived by wife, Carol (Norcross), married 54 years.  Daughters Lisa Kmetz (Eric), Roberta Jensen (Erik), Melinda Strange (Judson).  Grandchildren Ashley, Shane, Alyssa, Abygale, Ayden, Judson Jr.

Family and friends are welcome to gather to celebrate his life on Saturday, September 28 from 11 am to 12 pm at the Brigantine Community Presbyterian Church, where a service will be held at 12 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brigantine Community Presbyterian Church or Disabled American Veterans.
