Ronald "Ron" Lorenz, 69 of Machesney Park, died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, in his home. Born Feb. 9, 1939, in Janesville, WI., the son of Robert and Agnes (DeFeitas) Lorenz. He married Sharon Magnuson on Sept. 22, 1958 in Rockford: she died Jan. 20, 2003. Ron was a tool and die maker at Header Die & Tool for 35 years. He loved his family and enjoyed sightseeing. He is survived by his children, Kim (John) Early of Beloit, WI., Scott (Mary) Lorenz of Machesney Park, Mark (Denise) Lorenz of Milton, WI, and Veronica (Troy) Corey of Loves Park, IL; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jason, Tyson and Levi, Justin and Ashley, Heather, Briana and Stefanie, Natasha; five great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Betty) Lorenz of Buffalo, NY, sisters, Barbara Borden of Florida, Joan VanGilder of WI, Delores (Gary) Vasey of Missouri, and Darlene (Bill) Kinder of Rockford; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Patti Lee.


Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Fred C Olson Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd, North Main Chapel 2811 N Main, burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday in the funeral home.
