Ron was the son of Elbert Lee Crow born November 21, 1918 and Kathleen Buchanan born August 26, 1921. Ron passed away peacefully in his sleep early on the morning of July 30, 2016. While he had been ill for more than a year, his passing was sudden and unexpected. He lived the early years of his life in Colorado Springs and Seattle. He moved to San Diego where he attended school at St. Ignatius and graduated from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach in 1957. He spent some time after high school living with family in Florida. He returned to the San Diego area where he attended San Diego State and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering. In the early 1970's he moved to San Francisco and worked for the San Francisco Unified School District until he disability retired in February of 1992. He married Mary Faye McReynolds on November 19, 1983 at St. Edmund's Episcopal Church in Pacifica. In 1995 Ron and Mary moved to Concord, CA where they resided for twenty years. They moved to Sacramento in October of 2015.
Ron is survived by his mother Kathleen Weeks, brother John R. Crow, wife Mary, five children, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Ron was particularly proud of his accomplishments in the area of electronics. He earned a Lifetime Radio Broadcast License from the FCC in an era where you had to pass the FCC's test. Prior to his retirement, he was responsible for repairing the computer equipment used in all of the schools in the SFUSD. He designed and implemented a Computer Repair Station model procedure which was the first known in the state and it became a model for several schools statewide.
Ron was a 33 year member of Columbia Brotherhood Masonic Lodge 360, San Francisco and a 23 year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Concord Lodge 567.
