Ms. Rosa Ellen Lewis was born on March 4, 1945, in Jackson's Gap, Alabama to the late Mr. Johnny Tolbert and Mrs. Ellen Crayton Tolbert.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church in Jackson's Gap, Alabama. She resided in Alexander City, Alabama.

Ms. Lewis was educated in the Tallapoosa County Public Schools, where she excelled as Valedictorian of her 1963 graduating class.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Cora Mae Tolbert, Ms. Nina Tolbert Cannon; three brothers: Mr. John Eddie Tolbert, Mr. Tommy Joe Tolbert, and Mr. Willie Mike Tolbert.

Ms. Lewis departed this earthly life to ascend to her heavenly home, Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her residence. You were gone before we knew it, but the memory of you will be cherished by a special friend, Mr. Tommy Marbury of Alexander City, Alabama; one daughter, Mrs. Melanie (Bernard) Moon of Dadeville, Alabama; two granddaughters, Miss Tatyana Tolbert, Miss Syneshia Hart both of Dadeville, Alabama; one grandson, Mr. Jarman Gaddis of Alexander City, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Alberta (Shelly "Bud") Burns of Jackson's Gap, Alabama; one special sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Vivian Tolbert of Jackson's Gap, Alabama, two brothers, Elderly Samuel (Alecia) Tolbert, Mr. Billy "Buddy" L. (Mozell) Tolbert both of Homerville, Georgia; one special aunt, Mrs. Mary Heard of Jackson's Gap, Alabama; six special nieces, Mrs. Roberta (George) Davis, Miss Darlene Tolbert, Mrs. Dana (Brad) Ford, Ms. Shawn Edwards all of Jackson's Gap, Alabama, Mrs. Tamika (Bud) McKinney, Ms. Julia Ann McKenzie both of Alexander City, Alabama; three special nephews, Mr. Michael (Connie) Tolbert of Auburn, Alabama, Mr. Chris (Vanessa) Tolbert of Dadeville, Alabama, Mr. Trell (Natalie) Tolbert of Jackson'sGap, Alabama, Alabama; a special friend, Mrs. Deborah Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Interment: Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
