Rosa Louvenia Gresham, 92, a longtime resident of Chapel Hill passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at Carolina Meadows Retirement Community.

A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Claude M. Gresham and Rosa Williams Gresham.  She worked for over forty years in DC, Pennsylvania and Richmond as a supervisor and manager for the US Army, Division of General Material  and Petroleum Activity.  She retired in 1982 and later moved to Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill.  She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and she was very active in volunteering and in cultural activities.  She especially enjoyed traveling and visited most of the world.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and by one sister, Inez G. Williamson of Richmond, Va.  She was preceded in death by six brothers, Elvis, Lee, Grady, Bennie, Fred and George; and by three sisters, Pearl G. Blackwell, Bessie Mae Gresham and Hettie Irene Gresham.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery by Dr. Dennis Hill.

Omission of flowers is requested and memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Graveside service in the fellowship hall of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church, Kittrell, N.C.
