It has been ten years since you left. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Russ, the kids and the family talk about you, Aunt Faye, and Granny Cox all the time . So many wonderful memories. You are still missed so very much!! . I love you Mother!!
This website was created in the memory of our beloved, Rosa Raye (Cox Daniel) Brooks, "Nannie".
Her generous spirit and contagious laugh will live on in our hearts forever.

I have had 2 cardinals around her for several days. I am sure it is you and perhaps Terry telling me things will be ok. I go to your tree and talk to you, that gives me peace.
I love and miss you Mother.

My Aunt Rosie
Memory
Most of the memories I have of Aunt Rosie were made prior to my family moving to Florida in the 60's.
Aunt Rosie was such a beautiful, fun loving person and my sister, Billie Jean, and I loved spending time at her home with Butch, Terry and Sally.
I remember Aunt Rosie being a "clean freek" and somehow we would manage to end up spending the night only to get up the next morning to the dreaded "cleaning day". I believe that the militay could have really used Rosie to head their cleaning/inspection department. She was relentless.
We would talk Rosie into driving us around the "Blue Grass". We probably ran into Gwen on some of those drive throughs and I can't see her being overly enjoyed to see us.
Then there were black berry picking jaunts and even trips to a certain cemetary.
There will always be a special place for her in my heart and although she is no longer with us here in this world she is free of pain and suffering and having a great time in heaven with her family and my mother. Thank you Lord for the wonderful memories I have of Aunt Rosie.
My Mother-in-law.
About 25 years ago, Larry Morrison, a friend from my office in Denver stopped by my cubicle. "I know everything about you", he said. "I know where you went to high school, college, your wife Sally, your kids, when you got married --EVERYTHING."
Russ: "Uhh...what are you talking about?"
Larry: "Well I flew back to Denver from Cincinatti yesterday, and sat next to this nice, retired lady. We began to talk and she asked what I did, where I worked, etc. Once she found out we worked in the same office, I learned she was on her way to visit your family in Denver. Her descripion of your family and the pride she took in her grandchildren was comprehensive to say the least. She was so genuine, funny, and full of life. I really enjoyed the flight."
Larry would occasionally mention that trip to me through the years, ask how Rosie is doing, and always repeat how much he enjoyed meeting her. Rosie touched so many throughout her life, I know this is but one example of the positive, outgoing nature of this fine woman who indeed "never met a stranger".
As for me, I am quite certain that no man ever had a better mother-in-law.
