Daddy's Obituary

Roscoe Rexrode. 89, of Singers Glen Va and formerly of Pleasant Valley, passed away at home on Feb. 12. 2012.

He was born to the late Minor Rexrode and Elva Florence Eye on Aug. 24, 1922 in Moyers.

Mr. Rexrode graduated from Franklin High School and later enlisted in the United States Military .  He served in the Army, at one point under the direction of General Patton, during World War 2.  He was always a farmer at heart and took pride in gardening.  In 1955, he and his wife moved to the valley with their two daughters where he continued to farm and was employed with the farm bureau for many years.

He was a dedicated member of the Harrisonburg Church of Christ.

His wife, Missouri Belt Rexrode, preceded him in death in December 2010.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Y Payne and husband, Jake of Singers Glen and Golda M. Rexrode and husband, Gary W. of Mt. Crawford; four granddaughters, Sonya Rickel and husband, Shane, Tara Rexrode, Nina Strawderman and Stacy Ford and companion, Adrian Brown; four great-grandchildren, Briana Ford, Dakota Ford, Benjamin Strawderman and Liam Rexrode; and one brother, Dolan Rexrode.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with Dr. Todd Collier officiating.  Interment followed at Woodbine Cemetery. with military Rites by the Dayton American Legion Post 27.
