Her Life
September 29, 2016

Rose Marie Phillips was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 26, 2016. She is now resting at the greatest grace of eternal peace, a place where there is no more sadness, pain or tears.

Rose was born on December 17, 1920, to Gene and Julia Beasley. She confessed to Christ at an early age at St Paul CME Church in Lone Oak, GA. She later united with the St Marys UMC where she served faithfully until health issues occurred. Her love for singing, helping others, reciting poems were always her forte.

Rose attended Grantville High School and after living in New York, she came back to Georgia and taught at Arbor Chaper, there she met Wilson Phillips and the two were joined in holy matrimony in 1941. From their union, they were blessed with seven devoted children.

Throughout her esteemed life, Rose had the pleasure of merging her unyielding love for Jesus Christ with her unrelenting passion for helping others. She was dedicated to a life of service spiritually and socially. She loved people and it was evident in her church and community. She was active in the church choir, United Methodist Women, Reunion Club, Senior Citizen Groups and others. She also loved to bowl, sew, quilt, and garden. The exemplary kindness that was shown toward others was the same gentleness that was shown to her by her faithful children during her illness.

Rose’s jubilant personality and infectious laughter will always be treasured by those who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory, five children: Hazel, Carol, Janis, Dennis (Shirlette), and Debbie (Phillip). Preceding her in death was Wilson Phillips (husband); sons – Wilson Jr (Ora), Ezzard (Gloria); fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
