Lessons on trust

Shared by Zepora Folks-Kirksey on April 27, 2017

My first "boyfriend" hurt my feelings and I just wanted to lay in the bed and cry. Mom came in the room and sat on my legs and started tickling me. She asked me and I told her what was wrong. She asked me if I could trust what he says. My response was no. She said I already have my answer. This taught me many things. 1, that I should trust my own instincts and, 2, that if I cannot trust a person I should reevaluate how far into my life I let them. I have kept this lesson with me throughout my life and will continue to abide by it. I have tons of these little jewels Ms. Rose gave me. I love you ❤️ Ms. Lady.
