OBITUARY

Roxieann Wright, the matriarch of our family, was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 22, 1936 to Alma Harris and Purnell McKie Sr. She was the youngest of four children. At an early age her family moved to Philadelphia, PA. At the age of 19 she moved to Lakewood, NJ, were she met, and fell in love with her lifelong partner, Louis Wright Sr. On October 30, 1955 she and Louis married and from that union came Jacqueline K. Wright, Louis Wright Jr., Mary A. Wright-Dickens, Nishia S. Wright, Ronald T. Wright Sr, Morgarena C. Crittenden, Charmaine B. Wright, and John Wright Sr.

She pursued her nursing license and in 1972 became an LPN, working for Ocean County Corrections as well as McGraw Hill Publishing as a typist. In July 1999, in keeping with her love of Christ, she received her Certificate of Ordination. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, she kept a fresh hair-do and her nails stayed done. Spending time surrounded by her family was her joy. She was very competitive and couldn’t stand to lose. Everyone that knew her, knew she loved Barry White. She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years, their eight children, many grand, great, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
