Roger Joseph Sheridan was born in Sutton, Nebraska on February 28, 1921. His mother, Margaret Elizabeth Hogan Sheridan came to America from White Gate, Limerick County, Ireland. Roger's father, William Michael Sheridan was born in Exeter, Nebraska, and grew up on a farm along the Clay/Fillmore County line in Nebraska. Roger's brothers and sisters are Ellie, William (Bill), Regina, Thomas, John, and Margaret (Peg).
Roger graduated from Sutton high school. Roger worked with his Father and brothers at their implement business in Sutton, Massey Ferguson and Massey Harrison. Roger farmed in the Sutton area all of his life, corn, milo, wheat, soybeans. Roger married Betty McLaughlin, who also graduated from Sutton high school, then was a country school teacher. Betty studied and graduated from St. Elizabeth School of nursing in Lincoln, Nebraska, during the time that Roger served in the Navy in World War II.
Betty and Roger's children are Patricia Mary, Elizabeth Jane, William Michael, Ellen Ann, Paul Joseph, Philip Roger, and Clare Marie.
