Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Freedom Faith Church, 6540 N. Main Street, Dayton Ohio 45415. Visitation is at 12pm and the service starts 1pm.
Nell Ruby Lee (Holmon) Patterson was the thirteenth child born to the late Elliott and Estella Holmon on April 13, 1928 and after 94 years and 6 days, she fell asleep in the arms of Jesus, on April 19, 2022.
She grew up in Mulberry, Tennessee and attended school in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
Ruby was a soft spoken, loving and giving woman of God.She loved the Lord and she, without doubt, loved the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that the Lord blessed her with.She was preceded in death by her parents; her only son, Billy D. Holmon, four grandchildren, Shameika Patterson, Ricky Simmons, Brandon Woods, Sr. and Tyran K. Simmons, Sr.; great grandsons, Tyran K. Simmons, Jr. andCarter Lee Clemmons, and fourteen siblings (Mattie Lou Bailey, Estella Leona Bean, Truly Mae Foxx, Emma “Bell” Shelton, Cleo Smith, Mildred Alice Alberta Whitaker, Margaret Ann Whitaker, Ab Jay Justice Billy Douglas Holmon, Cleophus Holmon, Abraham Clinton Holmon, Elliot Holmon, Jr., R. P. Holmon, William “Will’ Henry Holmon and W. T. Holmon).
She leaves to cherish and honor her memory four devoted daughters, Sarah Frances of Baltimore, MD,Sherida Renay, Diana Gail and Leticia Rochelle of Dayton, OH; children-in-love, Joseph Simmons, Sr., Vickie Maddox, Stefan’Wynn, Alan Hicks and Nate Wortham; eighteen adoring grandchildren, JosephSimmons, Jr., Eric Simmons, Sr., Shereece Holmon, V. Dwayne (Naomi) Simmons, Sr., Donte Allen, Schanel Wynn, Donyell Patterson, Jonathan (Shatesha) Allen, DiTisha Patterson, Stefany (Jeremy) Byrd, DiEisha Patterson, Stedman J Wynn, Precious Patterson, Keisha Hicks, Princess Blanks, Caleb Jones, Sean (Cara) Jones andDestinee Blanks; twenty-one great grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Ricky, Brittany, Ronnell, Erica, KiTyra, Eric Jr., V. Dwayne Jr., Eyanna, Shane, Shawn, Danyell, Allera, Ke’Marah, Deanna, Amir,Genesis, Mariah, Selvyn, Samuel, and Solomon; five great-great grandchildren Mason, Mulan, Melanee, Ramaya and CKing along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

At the last Holman reunion Aunt Brownie attended in Lewisburg, TN, I believe in 2013, I recorded a few seconds of video of she and I and she was wondering why I was still single after being divorced for so long. It was quite funny. I would post it but I don't have access to it at this time. A treasured few seconds with my favorite aunt I will always try to preserve.
