Ruth Ann Smith Woodall, 69, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.

A native of Durham County, the daughter of the late Noland Warren Smith and Mary Elizabeth Chisenhall. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Newton Instruments.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham.

Surviving are her son, Cory R. Woodall of Oxford, two sisters, Carolyn Smith Cobb of Mebane, Penny Smith Mitchell of Kittrell, two brothers, Benjamin ‘Benny” A. Smith of Durham, Waylon “Buster” Smith of Durham. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Warren Smith Sr.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Fight for Breast Cancer, Attn: Donor Relations & Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 13, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.

To Ruth Ann's family, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers go with you. Cory, thank you for sharing the visits with your mother with me recently. She was a sweet person. I remember her as always with a smile and something funny to do. I treasure her friendship.
