Dear Hicks family, I just saw this, as I was looking for another one. I loved Ruth Hicks so much, she worked with me at Super dollar, and was a joy to be around. I grieve with you, but I know she is with our Lord, and He was so generous to have let us have this special lady in our life.

Jane, I just found out about your mom. I am so very sorry. Your mother was what I hoped to be as a mother. I know that this must be such a difficult time for all of you. People like your mom don,t come along often. All of us are better for having her in our lives.

I love you and hope you smile a little when you think about your dad when he saw your mom enter heaven. I wonder of he called her sugar foot:))

The Hicks children We have been next door neighbors for 50 plus years. Ruth and Ray were a blessing to have as neighbors. We watched them raise their family and they were an inspiration and inspiring to us when our two daughters come along in the 60's. they were 19 months apart, so when I thought I was having a busy day all I had to do was look over at Ruth's. She done a wonderful job with her eight. Ray traveling a lot with CCF. Ray was a hoot, could get more out of a laugh than anyone. We have so many good memories over the years, Will miss you. We thank God for our good neighbors.

Jane, and the rest of the Hicks family, Bernice and I are sorry for your loss. Ruth has been a dear friend to us since we moved into the community back in '78. I got to know her parents in those early days as I shared tapes from PGBC services. I used to spend an hour or more each Saturday morning visiting with them and often Ruth would be there as well. She was always the epitome of kindness to all of our family and we will truly miss her as I have really missed Ray all these years. May God comfort you in your grief.

Edie,
Barbara and I wanted to send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. After reading about your mother it is obvious she was a great and loving lady. I know all the members of the Cashwell Class at Hayes Barton Baptist Church have you in their thoughts.

Mike, Howard, Lynwood, Ray, Marshall, Charles, Edie, and Jane...
....I am so sorry for your loss, but happy for your mom, now in heaven. I saw her on Thursday at lunch, standing in line at McDonalds. She was bright, smiling, shining and her 'always' pleasant, humble self. I never saw her that she didn't speak and speak kind words. Both your mom and dad were true role models for the community.
I will doing a funeral at 2pm in Winston Salem tomorrow, otherwise I would love to be with you, to support and love on you all. Please call if I can do anything at all for anyone of you. I am in the phone book...
I will be praying for you all...
