About a year before she passed ,we went to this little store together. If u knew Ruthie, she got the giggles alot about the corniest things but she would always got me giggling too. We would giggle to almost peeing in our pants. Well we go to the store and she wanted to read birthday cards for the heck of it. She picks up the CORNIEST card there. A picture of a cow w utters and on the inside it said" have an utterly nice birthday. She got the giggles so hard that even though it wasn't that funny, she got me giggling. Needless to say, we laughed so hard, she and I both started crying from laughing so much. Well momma couldn't handle it. We had no Kleenex so she says,oh the heck w it and got a box of Kleenex off the shelf. We used quite a few of the till we calmed down. Now of course she paid for the Kleenex but we both forgot why we even went to the store and we both had to go home to change our pants.

This may not b as funny for u,u know,u had to b there but the ones who knew her well such as family may enjoy this story. God love her

         So I spent the night frequently with my grandma. She had a twin size bed so I always made a palette on the floor beside her bed. Every once in awhile, a spider or a cricket would land on me and wake me up. We could never find the culprit so I always ended up falling back asleep and forgot about it. One time, however, there must have been a window open or something because it KEPT happening. Like 4 or 5 times that night a bug landed on me. Finally, we both got up and did an inspection and found a cricket. She carefully picked it up with a tissue and I thought from the way she was TALKING to it...she might take it outside and let it go. But no...she went to the bathroom...apologized to the cricket saying, "Sorry little baby," puckering her lips at the insect....and threw him into the toilet. She flushed the toilet...telling him she was "sorry little baby" the whole time. She was a character...my FAVORITE character of all time. Love you Grandma...Happy Birthday.
