We were saddened to hear of Ruth's passing but we feel so fortunate to have had her in our lives at all. We will remember fondly time spent with her at the Anthanaeum and just sitting on the porch at Chautauqua. May her memory be a blessing for all the family as was her life.
Sincerely,
Sam and Lynn Harris and Jeremy

Ruth was my mother's cousin, and ironically, I didn't have a lot of contact with her until my mother (and then my father) died. However, she was very supportive when I was left alone, and we became friends at that point. I was invited twice to visit Chautauqua, and she and Dorcas were wonderful hostesses. I live in Colorado, so most of my communications with Ruth were through email, but her generous spirit showed through even in the written word, and I will miss corresponding with her. She was a wonderful person, and the world is a little darker without her, but I know she would want us all to celebrate her life rather than grieve her passing, so I will dedicate myself to remembering all the good times we shared. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Hammerstrom will always have a very special place in my heart and memory. I will miss our regular morning chats that we shared on many many mornings. She offered so much guidance and support and always a comfort. She was full of Grace, Love and just a truly special lady. I so admired her devotion to Christian Science. I will miss her always. Much love and prayers to the Hammerstrom family. Larane

I did leave a tribute before but perhaps it did not go through. I'm very happy to write another for I can't say enough about my precious sister whose memory will always glow beautifully in my consciousness. She was my very dearest friend. We shared a very close relationship. I'm so grateful that for the last few years we lived in the same condominium and therefore saw each other almost every day. I not only loved her dearly but great admired and respected her grace and strength in meeting personal adversities also the wisdom and Christly love she consistently expressed in her consecrated and effective work for many years as a Christian Science practitioner.

I met Ruth only three times. Each time we connected it was special and I regret now that I didn't meet her earlier in her life. I will cherish the memory I have of the brief, but special times I spent with her. We especially bonded over the wheaten terriers! RIP Dear Ruth.

Ruth and Dorcas were great friends of Jeanne and I across the street on Hurst. Now Ruth joins Jeanne in Heavenly bliss, and all the Conways are forever grateful for them.

Dear Aunt Dorcas,
I have found your uplifting words about your beloved sister, Ruth to be
quite beautiful, and also, a testament to the following :"Perfect Love casteth out fear." Margit has spoken about you with much love and admiration.
You are now the matriarch, and family and friends will look to you for love and prayers, and special stories of growing up with Ruth! I imagine that you are filled with wonderful stories of the two Strong sisters through the years.
You are forever young and a role model for all to observe the graceful and loving manner in which you have shown through your writing about your sister, Ruth.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever." The bond between two sisters is a
precious thing.
Your loving memories will keep Ruth alive
in everyone's heart. Thank you, Aunt Dorcas for your giving heart,
and for sharing your extraordinary faith.

Not sure if an earlier note went through so I'm writing again.
Ruth, my dearly beloved sister, was also my best friend and a cherished companion. I have a treasury of precious memories of her beautiful character and of all the experiences we shared during many years. I feel very privileged and greatly blessed to have had such a loving, close relationship with such a truly unforgettable and remarkable individual.

Dear Margit and Family,
I wish to extend my heartfelt prayers over the passing of a beloved lady
named Ruth Hammerstrom . She was a "Lady for the Ages." I relished in
the many wonderful stories that Margit told about her beloved Mother. I know that Margit and her family will celebrate her long, precious life, and show appreciation for the happy memories of the loving and devoted matriarch of their family. May a mosaic of special time spent with Ruth create a quilt of comfort and joy as you celebrate her life. I had the good fortune of meeting her in Cambridge many years ago. I remember her warmth, charming personality, and positive
outlook on life. It was an honor to meet Mrs. Hammerstrom! I remember the twinkle in her eye, and her great love for her wonderful daughter, Margit whom we all cherish in out own unique way.

A quote from "The Little Prince" by : Saint Exupery
"In one of those stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night. And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me. You will always be my friend...I shall not leave you.”
Love,

It was Mom's wish that we not have a funeral or memorial service. . . just a private family remembrance, which we will do at a future time. Having received so many inquiries for ways to reach out and remember her, we're offering this as a way to enable anyone to share their remembrances, love, and appreciation.
