     Rutha M. Harris, 86, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.

     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Reverend Vance Jordan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

     Rutha was born in Greenwood, MS, the youngest child of John and Lola Mae (White) Harris. She married Sampson Harris, Jr. on April 15, 1963 in Peoria. He survives.

     She is also survived by her children, Mary Harris and Linda Harris, both of Peoria and Owen (Stalena) Harris of Arlington, TX; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.

     Rutha was preceded in death by her children, Clyde Ramsey, Roger Ramsey, James Harris and Sampson Jonathan Harris, Randy Harris, Terrina Harris and Angela Harris; grandson, Keenan Howard; and all of her siblings.

     She worked as a housekeeper at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for many years before her illness. Some of her hobbies included cooking and collecting coins. Her favorite song was “Faded Rose” and James Cleveland was her favorite musical artist. She liked to listen to Shirley Caesar style of music. Having all of her family over brought her the most enjoyment and being at home with her great great grandchildren was her favorite place to be. Her family is most proud of her for the way she loved them. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma and friend.
