Words cannot encompass the Love you showed me as a child growing up, you always wanted me to stay and be with you and you were the mother I knew growing up as a kid...your words echo still in my head, your discipline is forever etched in my heart and your Love and generousity forever in my soul...even though you're physically gone, you still live in my heart and I can never be over your passing and the way you did...Grandma I Love and Miss you Everyday, Rest well with the Lord.

To a woman that taught me so many things…growing up was easy because of you..tears rolled down my eyes when I heard you were gone.I know it was a life well spent but a part of me wanted you to live longer…thank you for all the sacrifices, word of advice and prayers, Thank you for the stipend you give me anytime I come visit and the numerous lives you’ve touched…I will never forget how you took that long work to the hospital when I was involved in an accident.I was shocked hearing you trekked that distance at your age…your smile that day when you came in reassured me that I was going to be okay and that you will be by my side till ur last breath and you did….your memories will forever live in my heart…I love you grandma

Thank you for being the best grand mum a girl could ask for

Till we meet to part no more

I shed a tear when I heard that “mummy agba” is gone, she was one special woman with a heart of solid gold, who always came through for me anytime I needed help and always listened to my numerous complains. She was my go-to for anything and the loss of her is hard. She lived a full life. Granny played a big part in my childhood; you taught me more about life than anyone at all. I can remember all your wonderful dishes, how you helped with my assignments as well as help me to copy notes whenever I missed classes due to illness or otherwise (you had the best of handwritings), she made growing up easy for me. She taught me a lot about love and giving, she was not only my grandmother but my friend, guardian (I know she must still be watching over me where she is) and inspiration (the reason I saved her number on my phone as “My role model”). I love you so much granny, though your beautiful smile is gone and your hands I can’t touch, but your memories would always live in me; God has you in His keeping and I have you in my heart. Thank you for your sacrifices, love, care, concern and everything you have done for me. I will forever be grateful. You are sadly missed but never forgotten.

It is with great sadness that I mourn the passing of Chief Mrs Sophia Adeyinka Otegbayo. She was a kind, generous, and loving woman who touched the lives of so many people. I will never forget the kindness and generosity she showed me when I was a young boy.

I was a starry-eyed 11-year-old when I got admission to Federal Government College Kaduna. I was far away from home and family, and I was scared and lonely. My late father, Rufus Oyekola Okanlawon, handed me over to Chief Otegbayo as a guardian and she and her husband welcomed me into her home with open arms.

Chief Otegbayo was like a second mother to me. She took care of me and was always there for me, no matter what. I will never forget the delicious hot meals she would prepare for me whenever I visited. She was also not one to miss the opportunity of blessing me monetarily.

Mama was a kind, generous, and loving woman who made a difference in the lives of so many people. I will never forget her, and I will always be grateful for the time I had with her.

May her soul rest in peace.

Mama,
It always brings a smile to my face when I remember our days together at the Wesley
Methodist Cathedral in Kaduna.
You were always quick to pull me aside to remind me of the importance of dressing to match with my spouse attire :)
You are fondly remembered!
Rest on in peace  Mama!
