This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Salvacion Pena 79 years old , born on August 31, 1939 and passed away on March 10, 2019. We will remember her forever.
A loving wife to Ruben Dimaano Pena, and mother to two children, Ruben Jr. and Peter Pena.
Salvacion was one of seven children and was born in Bantay Ilocus Sur where she also completed her education. She later moved to U.S. and landed in Chicago on June 22, 1968 where she began her professional career in administration. Also in Chicago is where she met Ruben and were married in 1975.
In 1976, Ruben and Salvacion moved to California where they started their lives together and had their first born, Ruben Jr. followed by Peter in 1978.
In 1982, Salvacion completed nursing school and began her nursing career. She dedicated 24 years of service and cared for a wide array of patients ranging from newborns in the NICU to the geriatrics in convalescent hospitals. Her inherent need to help and care for her family and her patients always left us feeling loved, cared for and hopeful. She worked tirelessly to make sure each our needs were met each and every day. Salvacion genuinely cared for people and greeted everyone, family, friends, strangers with the same smile and love with open arms. She had a special spot in her heart for babies. Seeing a baby would captivate her and it would be as if the rest of the world did not exist, only this baby in front of her.
New Year’s Day 2019
(Sally’s favorite Holiday) Her last spoken words to us was, “Happy New Year.”
Truly one-of-a-kind, she will be missed greatly. This memorial will serve as a perpetual remembrance of a person who genuinely loved, laughed, cared and supported us until the very end.
We love you very much. May your spirit be with God and may you have eternal peace and rest.
