OBITUARY

Taken from an article in the Queen Victoria Market's "Trader Bulletin"...

Sam Harrison will always be remembered for his beaming smile. Trading from 1945 to 2009, he was loved by his customers who would always hear his distinctive roaring laughter from anywhere in the Market. Sam especially loved to go to Fiji every year and would always have some travel advice for any of the Queen Victoria Market staff heading overseas. He will be sorely missed.

To dear Linda, Ern & Ray,

Leila, Sally and I are deeply sorry we were unable to attend the service in Greensborough to say farewell to our dear Uncle Sam.

Please accept our sincere condolences at this sad time.

We have so many fond memories of your Dad (and Mum as well) and know those memories will be with us for the rest of our lives.

I can remember as kids how excited we used to get every time we learned the Harrison family was coming out to Greensborough for a visit; or a day-trip was being planned with the family during the school holidays. Imagine how we felt when we heard the news that you were actually moving to Greensborough – it doesn’t get any better than that!

A few years on and although it wasn't for very long, I thoroughly enjoyed my Saturdays 'working' at the Vic Markets helping your Mum and Dad and would go back in a heartbeat if it were possible.

Your folks were always an absolute pleasure to be around and while no longer with us, can still bring a smile to my face and will never be far away.

With love from Steven, Leila & Sally.

Dear Linda, Ern and Ray,

What a wonderful tribute to your dear dad, Sam.

I have great memories of visiting Albert Street and having sleep overs at Parkview Avenue. Always made welcome, always felt included.  How excited your mum was and how proud was your dad when you moved to your new home. This was a home where there was always laughter, music, bustling noise.  I enjoyed your dad's humour, his opinions and the stories he told when driving me home. Always entertaining!

Your were very fortunate to have had your parents in your life for so long; interested, involved and loving you and the extended family.

It's hard to think of your dad without having your mum included, they were a true couple!

Vale Sam.

My best wishes to you all.......xJanelle
