The memories I have of you can never be replaced.
The laughs we shared ring through my ears when I think about you.
The words you spoke to me during your life continue to play in my mind.
I couldn't possibly have asked for a better grandpa.
You were my biggest teacher and such a role model for me to learn from.
I miss you very much, grandpa.

Thinking of you,

God's grace has been truly sufficient these past years daddy. You are still thought of with so much fondness 5years on. Proverbs 10:7 is so true....The memory of the righteous [person] is a [source of] blessing, But the name of the wicked will [be forgotten and] rot [like a corpse].
I remain ever so proud to be called your daughter and still miss you dearly.

Hmnn....Where do I begin from after 4years?
It is still painful you are not around daddy...
Would have wanted you to see your grandchildren who have now all become taller than me..lol...
Would have loved to have you visit from time to time so they can spend more time with grandpa and listen to your many stories of events that happened in your life. You had a pocket full of such stories.
We miss your kind and gentle spirit the most...
We remain hopeful that we shall meet again and together reign with Jesus in glory.
Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for your family daddy.
You can never be forgotten.
Much love

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15. Daddy, your exit came at a time we consider early but timely before our God. This remains the timeless consolation as the three years sped by like yesterday. We missed your fatherly counsels, love and care. You were kind, generous and you practiced your love by giving of which I am a beneficiary. Another aspect of you that I wish to touch in this post is your unfeigned humility. Continue to rest in the bosom of the LORD as you daily fellowship with the saints triumphant.

My dad was a Godly and a good man. A confidant and support system to all that gave him the chance to be just that to them. The past three years have been difficult without you around. But I thank God that as the years roll in, It has become more bearable than the previous year, however I feel blessed knowing that I have an extra guardian angel fighting battles for me in heaven. As these years go by, the pain I feel from losing you doesn’t dull, however I am comforted daily knowing that you are resting in a better place, free from pain and upset.
Your daughter,

Death unfortunately is a debt everyone has to pay and when my dad time came, to me it looked like too soon, but I know it was the time for him to rest in the Lord.
Well, daddy I am happy that I am one of your children and glad you were a grandfather to my children before death came. Your memory will not die in me, thinking about the time spent together whenever I came to see you and having bible study together online. All these bring tears of joy to me when I think about them knowing fully well you are enjoying the presence of the Lord. Daddy I feel pain when ever I remember that you did not wait to eat from the fruits of your labor after all your struggles to see me out of school. Surely, you were a man of peace , honor and dignity . May the Almighty Lord continue to grant you peaceful and gentle rest in his vine yard Amen.
Your daughter

THE BIOGRAPHY OF SAMUEL ADEWUNMI AMUNE

Career
A rare gem, Samuel Adewumi Amune, was born on January 1st in the year 1938 to Chief Ettah Amune and Mrs Ize Amune both of blessed memory.  Mr Ettah Amune was from Andiba Family in Igarra, Akoko Edo, Edo State.
Samuel Amune spent his childhood in Igarra where he had his basic Education in the Apostolic Church School from the year 1944 to 1956. He moved to Lagos in the year 1956 and got a job as a domestic aid to a European expatriate in a British firm. Samuel Amune's disposition to work endeared him to his boss so much that he got him enrolled as a part time student in an evening typing school. This meant Samuel Amune worked during the day as a domestic aid and went to school in the evenings as a student.
From 1956 to 1958, Samuel kept attending classes and excelling in his studies and soon got certified by the British City and Guild programme as a specialist in typing and shorthand.
A man who strongly believed in the power of education, Samuel Amune began to train up himself academically. His professional journey took him to NBC (Nigerian Broadcasting Co-operation) in 1961, where he held a position as a clerk. Whilst still at NBC, he sat for the G.C.E Advanced level examinations after which he gained admission to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he studied Law from 1968 to 1973 as a part time student, he then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and graduated in the year 1974 becoming the second lawyer to hail from Igarra.
He got transferred from the Nigerian Broadcasting Co-operation (NBC) to Nigeria Institute for Oceanography Marine Research (N.I.O.M.R) in 1976, where he served till he retired in 1998 after attaining the position of Company Legal Secretary. He went into full-time private legal practice after retiring from the public sector.
Personal/Family Life
In 1960, Samuel met his wife, Grace Titilayo Amune (nee Jatto), also from Igarra, and they got married in the year 1961 and were blessed with seven (7) children.
In 1991, he earned the chieftaincy title of “The Ozaika” of Igarra land (meaning the outspoken and courageous one). This title was bestowed on him by His Royal Highness, the Otaru of Igarra Land, in 1991 as recognition of his commitment to the peaceful co-existence of the people of Igarra.
Samuel Amune was raised in the Apostolic Church at Igarra and after his marriage to Mrs. Grace Amune, they both remained committed to God’s work in the Apostolic Church until 1997 when they joined Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). They became confirmed workers in church in 1998. Daddy was a man who sought to serve the Lord and age was no barrier in this quest, thus in August 2004, he was ordained a Deacon. He remained active in the service of the Lord at the Redeemed Christian Church of God for several years but he had to step back in face of increasing health challenges.
Daddy was not just a father but also a friend to all his children and his commitment to education spurred him on to ensure that all 7 of his children attained tertiary education. He never tolerated indiscipline and led by example. He was a man with a large heart who was accommodating to everyone he came across in his lifetime.

Even in the face of ill health, he remained a cheerful and welcoming person. His strength and equanimity were, and remain, a great source of inspiration and comfort to those who interacted with him in the last couple of years. He retained his sense of humour and it was obvious that he trusted in the Lord above all things.
Samuel Adewumi Amune was an accomplished lawyer, a great achiever, a wonderful family man, a loving father to his children and a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years.  He is survived by seven children, eighteen grand - children, brothers, sisters and other relatives who will all remember him as a principled, God-fearing man.
Though Daddy will be sorely missed, the joy of knowing him in his lifetime and the assurance of his faith more than compensate for our temporary sorrow at his departure.
