"Like so many of my cousins, I too have fond memories of going to Uncle Sam and Aunt Eve's every 4th of July.
Uncle Sam always had a great big grin on his face.

It was always fun hear him tell stories of he and Grandmom growing up.

The last time we saw him and Aunt Eve was when they were travelling around in the Davis tour van :)
They truly lived a great love story and he will be greatly missed.

"Every Fourth of July brings back warm and happy memories of celebrating that holiday with Uncle Sammy.  Our family trips to his home for fun in the pool, great food, large containers of bottles of iced coke, fireworks and just getting to see and playwith cousins and extended cousins were always eagerly anticipated.  Uncle Sammy always had his big welcoming smile and hug.  He will always be rememberd in my mind as someone with a big smile and even bigger heart who brought family together every summer."

"Uncle Sammy was a wonderful person. When he had the service station back in the 50's, he picked out my first car.   I always looked forward to seeing him.  When I lived in Jacksonville, Florida, he and Aunt Evie would stop by and the family would go out for lunch.  He was a great storyteller.

He will be missed."
