Your sister, Sandra

December 25, 2021
Sandra Louise Cross MORRISVILLE — Sandra Louise Cross, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at “the Manor” in Morrisville. She was born June 17, 1940, in Montpelier, the daughter of Walter and Isabelle (Armington) Thompson. She attended school in Montpelier and Middlesex. Sandra became a “blushing bride” at the age of 73 when she wed Albert T. Cross on June 29, 2013. They enjoyed six years of companionship with one another in Jeffersonville. Sandra had worked in housekeeping at various businesses in central Vermont. She was best known as “Aunt Sandy” by the children of friends and family whom she cared for through the years. Her love and dedication to children was extended through her crafting and gifting of baby blankets to the Teen Center in Barre. Her contagious giggle will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving her are sisters Nancy Duffey, of Middlesex, Linda Devine and Faith Copeland, of Barre; stepsons William Cross and partner Dan Ferland, Timothy Cross and family; as well as nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by her husband, Albert T. Cross; brothers Peter E. Thompson, Samuel W. Thompson; and her parents. A gathering to celebrate her life will held Friday, Dec. 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Enough Ministries, 24 Washington St., in Barre, with “potluck” to follow the service. Interment will be conducted this spring.
