Sandra Susan Stinson was born on July 20, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska to Edwin and Velma Knuth. She went to her heavenly home on February 24, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Council Bluffs Mercy hospital with her family at her side at the age of 59 years 7 months and 4 days. She will be missed.

As a young girl Sandy attended elementary and high school in Omaha graduating with the Class of 1970 from Omaha South High School.

On October 8, 1977, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Richard Stinson and to this union two children, Chad and Lauren were born. 

In December of 1995, Sandra went to work for ConAgra Frozen Foods and retired from there on September 1, 2011, when her cancer began to cause her problems. Sandy enjoyed gardening, reading mystery novels, singing in her church choir, going out to eat with friends and family, cooking, doting on her kids, going camping and to car shows, cruising, street rodding, a good cup of coffee or tea, was a chocolate connoisseur and she loved hummingbirds.

Survivors include her husband of 34 and a half years, Gary, Council Bluffs, son, Chad and his wife Victoria "Vicki", Davenport, daughter, Lauren, Council Bluffs, and her beloved new grandson, Landyn, her parents, Edwin and Velma Knuth, sister, Gloria McDaniel and her husband, Thomas, mother-in-law, Helen Stinson, Omaha, sisters-in-law, Debra Phillips and Ed Drees, Omaha, Karen and Gary Brinker, Ashland, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many more family and friends.
